Biographical Sketch:

Milind Deo is a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Utah. He is the Director of Petroleum Research Center, whose mission is to conduct research for efficient production, transportation and processing of oil and gas. His research interests include oil and gas characterization and thermodynamics, reservoir engineering and enhanced oil recovery and oil processing. His current projects include wax and asphaltene precipitation and flow assurance, reservoir simulation of highly complex fractured/faulted reservoirs, carbon dioxide sequestration, and heavy oil production from oil sands and oil shale. He is also the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs for the College of Engineering where he coordinates the academic activities of the College.
